Our Registered Dental Hygienists

Amy Lowery, RDH

Amy has been with SGPD for 6 years.  She has been in dentistry for 12 years.  Amy works as a Registered Dental Hygienist.  She received her Dental Hygiene License from Valdosta State University in 1998.  She takes pride in her work and is a great team player.  Amy enjoys pediatrics and has always wanted to work with children.  She is exactly where she wants to be in her career.  We are proud that she is with us here at SGPD.

Amy enjoys playing softball, spending time with her family and is active in her church.  She is a twin and enjoys reading books from Nicholas Sparks and Danielle Steel.

Lisa Searcy, RDH

Lisa has been with the SGPD team since inception in 2001.  Lisa works as a Registered Dental Hygienist.  She has 15 years of pediatric expierence and is extremely knowledgeable in her field.  Lisa graduated from Darton College in Albany, Georgia with her Dental Hygiene License in 1994.  She was inducted into the Dental Hygiene Honor Society, Sigma Phi Alpha, that same year.  Our practice is honored to have her as part of our SGPD team.

Lisa is married to Stacy and they have two boys, Hayden and Dawson.  They have two Jack Russell's, Max and Milo.  She enjoys spending time with her family, reading and attending her boys tennis matches and baseball games.  Lisa has eclectic taste in music, Jodi Picoult is her favorite author and her favorite saying is "Life isn't measured by how many breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."  Lisa can not imagine doing another job that would make her more satisfied than her job here at SGPD.

 
Beth Joyner, RDH

Beth joined the SGPD team as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2010.  She graduated from Darton College and has been a hygienist for 18 years.  She is a joy to work with and we love her easy going personality and genuine smile. She even personally knows the tooth fairy!!

Beth has been married to Clint Joyner for 18 years and they are the proud parents of Eli (11), Shelby (15), and Matt (18).  She enjoys reading, running, and going to Crossfit!  When Beth is not working she loves to spend time with her family, work in her yard, and watch her children's sport activities. 

 
Tammy Freeman, RDH

Tammy has been a member of the SGPD team as a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2010.  She was born and raised in Lowndes County and graduated from Valdosta High School in 1988.  She became a hygienist in 2002 when she graduated from Valdosta State University.  She is a joy to work with and has an outgoing personality. 

Tammy is the loving mother of her two children, Dylan and Danielle Sutton.  She is also a realtor in the Valdosta area.  When she is not working, Tammy enjoys spending time with her fiance, Alan and watching him play softball! 

 Our Treatment Coordinators/Receptionists

Wendy Davis,

Wendy has worked for SGPD for 6 years.  She works diligently on insurance filing/billing and collections.  She came to our practice with 20 years of insurace and collection expierence.  Even though she had no dental expierence, Wendy caught on very quickly and is a valuable asset to our practice.  Wendy goes above and beyond to help the parents of our patients with their insurance questions. 

Wendy loves to spend time outdoors, fishing, learning to ride her motorcycle and watching college football.  She is married to Russ and they have 2 Beagles, Gus & Bama, who keep them entertained.  Wendy's favorite song is "I can only imagine" by MercyMe, her mom is her hero and her favorite saying is, "You only live once."

Lena Wells

Lena has worked for SGPD for 3 years.  She has 15 years of expierence in the medical field. Lena works at our front desk as a receptionist.  She schedules patients, answers the phone as well as checks patients in upon their arrival.  Lena is always very professional and makes every one who enters our practice  feel important.  SGPD is excited to have her as a part of our team. 

Lena is married to Brandon, who is in the Air Force and together they have one son, Brady.  Her hobbies include reading, playing tennis and being with her family.

Sherry Parker

Sherry has worked with SGPD for 6 years.  Prior to joining our team she worked in the medical field for 10 years.  Sherry works as a receptionist at our front desk.  She answers the phone, schedules appointments and checks patients in when they arrive.  Sherry also presents treatment plans and is very knowledgeable in her job.  Her willingness to go the extra mile in her job makes her a valuable asset to our team. 

Sherry is married to Joey and together they have two boys, Hunter & Tyler.  She enjoys the outdoors, water and snow skiing, clogging, being active in her chuch and spending time with her family.  She loves Christian music and two of her favorite sports to watch are football and NASCAR.  Her favorite  is "A woman's heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her."

 Our Certified Dental Assistants

Jan Alderman

Jan has worked as a dental assistant with SGPD since inception in 2001. She has been in the dental field since 1981 and is very knowledgeable in her field.  Jan received her certification for Radiological Health & Safety at the University of Florida in May 1987.  She has attended courses in Scottsdale Arizona on Management and Marketing Essentials in March 1988.  Jan received her certification for Expanded Duties of Dental Auxiliary Personnel from the University of Florida in June 1988.  She enjoys keeping her dental assisting skills up to date with her annual continue education classes .  SGPD is pleased to have her on our team.  Jan enjoys watching her patients over the years and how they have grown into wonderful dental patients.  She has such a sweet spirit  and  enthusiasm that is contagious. 

Jan enjoys going to NASCAR races, spending time at the beach with  her twin (who is also her roommate).  She also loves spending time with her cat, Roo, who has been her baby for the last 12 years.  Jan's favorite vacation spot is Fernadina Beach Florida, one of her favorite books is 90 Minutes in Heaven by Don Piper and her favorite song is No More Cloudy Days by The Eagles.

Lisa Plair

Lisa has been on our team for 6 years.  She has been in dentistry for 24 years.  Lisa comes with a wide variety of knowledge in the dental field and we are truly blessed to have her expertise here.  Lisa works as a Certified Dental Assistant.  She received her dental assisting certification from Albany Technical College in 1990.  Her radiology certification was received from ABAC in Tifton Georgia in 1990.    Lisa received her certification for Expanded Duties for the Dental Auxiliary from University of Florida in 1991.  Lisa keeps her dental assisting skills fresh by attending annual meetings and continuing education classes.  She is very gifted in making her patients feel relaxed while under her care and strives to make their dental expierence a fun and rewarding one.  Together with Lisa Searcy, one of our hygienist, she travels to local schools promoting good oral hygiene during Dental Health Month.  They present a fun puppet show that educates children on healthy snacks, what to expect at their dental visit and special surprises.  The puppets sing, dance and make it fun for the kids to get involved in the show.

Lisa is married to Jimmy and they have two children together, Lauren and Lee.  She enjoys reading, cooking, spending time with her family and is very active with the children and youth in her church,  Lisa's hero is Jesus Christ, her favorite song is I Can Only Imagine by MercyMe and her favorite authors are Nicholas Sparks and Karen Kingsbury.  Her favorite college football team is the Georgia Bulldogs.  Lisa loves working with children every day and considers herself blessed to have a small part in making her patients great dental patients for the future.
